Working with our new mums means that you also need to be working with our new dads. You’ve heard it from Midwives and Health Visitors, workers in associated healthcare services, and from the community. Make the decision in your organisation and include and engage men to be an asset to the health of our babies, as they will become the community of the future. We’ve agreed that supporting one gender is not enough. We’ve worked very hard together to get the DadPad this far with great results. Let’s make it far reaching and universal.
I was a bit scared when we found out we were having a baby, obviously happy, but a bit scared and in the beginning I was a bit clueless. The child development part is my favourite bit, but there’s things in there, like things about mental health, that I didn’t know about and that I didn’t know you needed to know about.
The DadPad gives support to new fathers who can often feel left out and unable to help when they’re needed most, and this can put a strain on both parents.
